There is no law that I am aware of in any state that would set a minimum age to stay in a hotel. Most states have laws that state that young children (under 10 or eleven) cannot be left unsupervised. All contracts with minors (under 18 in most states) are voidable by the minor, so many hotels would choose not to do business with someone who is underage and may seek to rescind the contract. Most hotels require a credit card to keep on file and credit card companies will not contract with minors. That being said, I'm sure there are many lower end hotels that would give a minor a room if they came with cash and hand and no credit card. I imagine most hotels would allow a minor to stay there if their parent supplied a credit card.

nobody for any reason will deal with someone they cannot sue legally. Having said that, you are not of legal age until you are 18 in the USA.
