The thing has bitten me & I don't like it anymore. I've looked after it for my friend for 3 years with no problems. I was only trying to put some cabbage in the cage for goodness sake. It has bitten other people before but not me cos it knew who I was.

Learn to forgive the rabbit, it may have been startled or frightened, my rabbit nips me if i don't stroke it when it's out, they're funny little creature, you shouldn't dislike it, another reason is if you have a scent on your hands it may have bitten you for that reason because I've noticed that when I've handled food they tend to try and bite you more as i found out with my hamsters, hope this helps, you should forgive it though as i always forgive mine. My rabbit goes for your hand when you go in the cage to put food in, even when she grunts at me and tries getting me when shes grumpy i just ignore her and pick her up, i still love her loads even though she's a little menace, my rabbits only grumpy for a reason though shes got cancer. :(

Well... I don't think u should worry about it!!! It's the same wit me!!! I love my rabbit, I use to play wit it everyday but then when I went back to school, I didn't have time to play wit it but I still feed it!!! Then one day it scrached me and bit me... she still does that and I don't really like her as much now!!! But I still take care of her.... Well I believe that maybe she could have been angry... but most of the time they would bit u when they are hungry. Maybe it bit u cause it saw food and didn't realise it was bitting u instead of the cabbage.

Sometimes its good that u let your rabbit out of its cage for a few minutes.... It's hard to put it back in its cage but they are happy to get out of their usual environment for a few minutes or so... Unfortunaly they get mad sometimes when u try to put it back into its cage!!! = (

I've had several bunnies who were very territorial and bit me... spaying always fixed the problem. Spaying also reduces the risk of reproductive cancers, which is very common in rabbits.

Don't freak out -- you're not going to die. Animal bites should be checked out at the doctor, though. Your animal was probably scared because it felt "trapped" in the cage. It's just an "animal" thing to do.

any animal will bite given the right circumstances. chances are, your rabbit was either very hungry or it just wasn't in the mood for contact.
just because he bites you, doesn't mean you should do anything with him other than just let him be a rabbit.

If it was hungery, then of corse it would bite you. If you can't, don't want to keep it, then give it to someplace like the humane society. If your just looking after it for the friend, then you could give it back. tell her what happened and she should understand.

You could give your pet up for adoption and let some other person enjoy its company. :)

My wife had a rabbit and it bit her. She grew tired of it and gave it to Petco which accepts animals and will hold them for adoption. She later got a puppy.
