My favourite from your list is Only Fools and Horses but perhaps you are too young to remember Fawlty Towers. If it was on your list it would certainly get my vote.

All the elements of comedy are there in Fawlty Towers - e.g. slapstick, farce, confusions and misunderstandings, wordplay and so on.

Because of the setting all types of people can be present - rich and poor, native and foreign, clever and stupid, etc. Our feelings as individuals and as a nation about others are portrayed so accurately, so cruelly sometimes and with so much understanding at others.

Our closest relationships - husband and wife, for instance - are laid bare in all their awfulness and yet there is tenderness too.

The humour provokes everything from a belly laugh to a cringe.

All in all, a fabulous show. Still hilariously funny after all these years.

the vicar of dibley must win if only for the joke shared by the vicar and Alice after the credits of each episode.

No disrespest but they've all had their day. There are so many funny programmes which stop being funny in the end and I think that applies to all of the above. It wont be long before Catherine Tate is old hat. Dad's Army is still quite funny because it's not been overdone but I think we've seen too much David Jason to last a lifetime....it's not his fault but the TV companies

The Vicar of Dibley!! Between the looks on their faces when they try one of Letita's insane dishes, clueless Alice's and her famous pasta art, and Jim's no no no no's I'm usually on the floor laughing.

For pure comedy moments it has to be "only fools and horses". There are so many classic funnies - like del boy going to lean on the bar at the part where the bar opens to let the barman out and he then leans on the empty space.

Out of this list its got to be Open All Hours. Ronnie Barker and David Jason, Comic Genius. The old ones are always the best.
