OK. It depends on how fast you want to solve it. I started in October 2006, and I have around 1:27 on average. My top time is 1:09.33. It took me about a week to solve it with a few algorithms written down on the paper. You'll start to memorize it at a week and a half. You'll find faster ways to solve it at about 2 weeks. You should reach 2:30 after practicing 3 weeks.
PS. Solving it is easy, it is 80% memorization, but solving it fast is harder.

It's quite tricky and difficult to master the rubik cube. there are different strategies (try wikipedia) and methods that help solving it. Imagine that some people can solve the cube is just seconds. Good Luck and Have Fun, Kempos

Yeah I dont know, but I have to disagree with that other guy. I personally would be impressed if a guy knew how to do that. Some girls actually LIKE smart/clever guys, instead of dumb jocks. hehe I just had to get my 2 cents in. :)

I don't think girls will think you as a cool guy when you bring your rubik's cube on a date and show them solving it in 10 seconds.
