The tsunami that occured in 2004 affected many South-East Asian countries including (In order of first to last in devastation) Indonesia, Sri Lankia, India and Thailand. The other countries that were hit were not included due to the vast difference between the 4th most badly affected country to the 5th.

I guess it affected so many countries because there are so many around there. Because it happened out at sea it expanded and engulfed more areas.

I guess it also effected so many countries because people were holidaying at those countries and some lost their lives. Therefore some countries that actually didn't have the physical effect of the wave had the emotion of having lost some of its citizens.

It also affected countries that didn't have citizens die or got washed away in that it was a world wide response to aiding those that were affected.
