Because Big Energy doesn't want anyone to find an alternative source of energy, which would put them out of business. (and who gets paid off by these energy companies?) Why, the politicians, of course !!

Somebody's lying.

Maybe it's the evil Republicans who want to destroy the world. Or maybe it's the evil Democrats who need the data to support their agenda, so they won't accept the data for what it really is.

The bottom line is that (with few exceptions) all politicians are corrupt and are more interested in securing their power than doing the right thing. And it's a sad fact that our scientists are so dependant on the support of a political cause that they, themselves, cannot be truly objective.

This is precisely why government should not support research. It causes bias.
