I've just come back from a game and the opponents absolutely trashed us, they kept using the full court press the whole time, and probably got more that 30 steals. The problem is all the guys in my team are over 6ft tall and fat and can't run to save their lives. I was wondering if there was anyone who could give me tips to hurt them back for using full court press, so next time hopefully we win against them at home. Thanks.

Against a ZONE press, you have to pass the ball quickly and accurately. Against a MAN-TO-MAN press, you must have excellent ball-handlers. But the biggest thing you MUST against any press do is maintain your composure. The idea behind a press is to "shake" the confidence of the opposing team.

If it is man to man and they follow your guys around everywhere, just try and get it in play first by having some of your big guys up close boxing out the opponents, that gets the ball in play and if your opponents try and grab the ball by reaching or pushing you can always fall and a foul should be called. If it's a zone press then usually there are openings where you can pass the ball. And then my favorite stand by: chuck the ball to the opposite end of the court (your teammates should know you're gonna do that) so you can get a fast break and hopefully score

Like the guy above said, if its a man press all you need is one good ball handler and have everyone else clear out down to the other end. If its a zone press have one guy deep in the other end one inbounding two guys to pass to at either side at teh foul line height and on guy in the middle on your side of the ball. quick passes and composure. use your guy in the middle if possible it will break it quicker and give you fast break opportunities. once you break it a couple times they will take it off. Practice this before the game. Don't be afraid of reversing the ball back to the guy who threw it in. And when the guy on the side gets the ball off the first pass the guy on the opposite side cuts across the middle of the court while the guy in the middle gos down the side to overload the one side which means there will be one guy open because the zone press is made to cover areas not guys so you'll have more guys on one side than they will. I hope you get what i'm saying its kind of hard to describe without diagrams. Good luck.

And try to work the ball up the middle of the court. Don't let yourself get trapped on the sideline with the ball.

well if they're doing a full court press on your team you could have a play of pick and roll... totally always helps... don't try and hurt then intentionally cuz its not right but yeah pick and roll always helps... =)

PASS AND CUT , PASS AND CUT. MAKE SURE THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ON YOUR TEAM BEHIND THE BALL TO BE THE SAFETY, JUST IN CASE YOU GET TRAP YOU CAN PASS IT BACK. PASS AND CUT!!!!!!!!! TEAMMATES NEED TO LOSE SOME WEIGTH.
