Both the husband and the wife should have sex only and only with each other.

Any marraige is successful if and only if both the partners enjoy moments with each other. The more enjoyable the private moments are the healthier the married life. If any one of these shares his private intimacies beyond the line, that would result in developing disinterest and a feeling of insecurity among them. They will lose the trust over each other. They may find it fun to do it with anyone else, but that would finally ruin their family life and in a way waste a lot of precious time of their life.

So buddy, respect life, respect marraige and always be committed.

:-)

I totally agree that a husband & a wife should be faithful to one another & live up to the commitment they make on their wedding day, or the contract signing if they didn't have a wedding.

Marriage is exactly that, a contract. When both persons sign that contract, they agree to all the things stated therein, including being faithful, loyal, til death, & so on. Religion aside, that is was marriage is.

When religion does come into the picture, the norms come from the culture. The norm in America is to have sex only with your spouse based on the Christian beliefs of the founding fathers. Of course, other norms today are divorce & cheating. There are norms, but there are many who don't follow them; there always has been & always will be.

The best thing to do is figure out ahead of time what is wanted in the marriage when it comes to sex. I know couples who are married & only have sex with each other, & they are happy. On the other, I also know couples that are & have been married longer than most of the trendy couples today, & they are full on swingers, but they are entirely dedicated to their spouse and would never leave them. It is best just to understand what is going to make both happy. It differs from couple to couple.

Last I heard the wedding vows that was the "Norm". Cleave unto thy husband...forsaking all others...
If two people want to get married and do so without being forced or coerced into it then extramarital affairs should not be happening. A woman and a man pick the person they want to spend the rest of their life with, sometimes things go wrong in the marriage and the couple divorce. But to be married and have affairs with others is a sin against all that the wedding vows hold sacred. This sin against the marriage vows is not something new, it has been happening since before time, the laws that govern prostitution, brothels and escort services, religions that uphold more than one wife in a marriage...this is why so many are turning their backs and values on the vows taken from the Holy Book. Men are just as guilty if not more so than women when it comes to affairs outside of marriage. If your not satisfied at home then get a divorce.

Yes, it is agreeable and the statement must include - 'husband should have sex only with the wife'.

The norms are very important for the civilsed society and this particular norm ensures stronger ties, peace, love and above all continuity of human life in a constructive way. If this norm would not be there, there shall be no defference between the wild animals & human beings.

Unfortunately, many of us do not adhere to the norms.

As a wife, I can say that I don't want to have sex with anyone but my husband, being intimate with your spouse only is part of marriage and something you vow to on your wedding day.

I agree 100%. If a person is going to have sex with some one other than their spouse, why are they married? When your married your commited to that one person. If some one steps out of that, their not commited and shouldn't be married.

Why get married if you're not going to be monogamous? Isn't that the whole point? You can have sex with other people as long as you both know that you're not committed to each other, but you shouldn't be married either.
