Each state has a prison locator service. You will generally need identifying information including the inmate's full name and date of birth.

Some of the services are available online, while others you will need to fax or call.

Call the local prison. They should know what prisoners are in what facility. You could call the courthouse where he was arraigned to find out the number of the jail they send people too after they are arraigned too.
