It was released as a single (Revolution on the other side) and never appeared on any of the bands albums. It did appear later on the Blue Album ( greatest hits 1967-70 ) and another collections album called Hey Jude. In the cd world it appears on The Beatles #1, and Past Masters Volume 2.

"Hey Jude" is a ballad recorded by The Beatles at Trident Studios. It was written by Paul McCartney but credited to Lennon/McCartney and originally written for the The Beatles album (also known unofficially as The White Album), but was released instead as a single.

It was also released on an LP released only in the U.S. called "Hey Jude" - great photo on the front (my sister had it). It was a compilation of great singles.
