I would tell the media to **** off. They are no friend of the United States or her soldiers. They have undermined the war since the start and have caused Americans to lose their lives by emboldening the enemy. As such they will be treated accordingly.

I would advocate for declaring a unilateral cease fire in Iraq, and having US troops withdraw into the green zone. I would negotiate with the insurgent groups in Iraq, and at the same time, get down on my knees in front of the UN, apologize for the previous actions and beg for their help in Iraq. As long as our policy is for US troops to try and impose a democracy on another country and culture, while simultaneously attacking groups and leaders with broad popular support, our troops will continue to be in danger, and the situation will continue the spread of terrorist groups. We need to acknowledge our failures, accept that no peace will ever hold unless the popular insurgent leaders agree to it, and get countries with better relationships with the Iraqi people involved in the sorting out of this mess. I would strongly advocate for giving a heck of a lot of money to rebuild Iraq, but not to Halliburton or other US corporations, instead to the Red Crescent, UN orgs and companies from Jordan, Lebannon, Qatar, etc.

I would end the war in Iraq and use all of the money we are spending over there on protecting our borders and harbors and increasing military intelligence to avoid another 9-11.

I would increase the size of the military, I mean like number of troops available, but I would not have them patrolling the streets but in bases where they only attack real threats to the US.
