I have an 2 year old Yorkie and a 4 yr old Pitbull...I caught my pit (Brooklyn) trying to mate with my Yorkie (MiMi) and thought it wasnt possible...I had him neutered around the same time I was trying to mate her with another Yorkie, but I was told by the vet that her puppies weren'y purebreed
Has anyone heard of yorkiepits? If so, can you direct me to where I can find pictures of the pups to see if they resemble mine??? I heard of a chihuahua and a rotweiler but never a yorkie n a pit...I will be more than happy to send pic's of the babies..

(I know that yorkies dont shed any hair and noticed that their bedding is full of little hairs) I guess that answers my question as far as who the baby daddy is.

I can't imagine your pit could have mated successfully with her without ripping her apart. Yorkies are small dogs and, well, pits arent'. She surely would have internal damage if he was successful. I would be more inclined to assume that the yorkie you mated her with was not truly purebred. Did you see his AKC papers and have a way to verify his identity? Do you have AKC papers on your yorkie? If they aren't AKC, they could easily be "less than purebred" as the other registries really don't check much.

Chances are the pit is the daddy. And thats definitely a really interesting combination. But you should probably have your male re-neutered since obviously he wasn't. Be careful though because letting a little dog like that mate with such a big one, you could really mess up her uterus so she could have problems later on, or never be able to breed again. Any mate is possible though, sperm is sperm it doesn't matter who or what its coming from. I'd really like to see some pictures though! Just send them to my email if you could. =D
