Does it bother you when naive people (ktbaron) believe that even confessed serial murderers shouldn't be judged for their crimes but rather coddled, reformed (hah) and reintegrated into society to offend again and again rather than being dispatched into the here after for the safety and common good of society?

Yes. The conceit of these people is astonishing. They presume that limp wristed liberals are the only human beings with decision making powers. In their world view everyone else is a victim of circumstance or disorder and cannot be held accountable for their actions!

It bothers me, yeah. What bothers me more, is that we even pay to keep those bastards alive. We should execute them as soon as they are found guilty. Do you know why they passed the three strike law? Because most of these bastards cannot be rehabilitated. They go to prison, learn to live the lifestyle, and are completely unprepared for real life when they get out. I know a few criminals that I would be willing to "Flip the switch" on. Let G/d figure out there punishment, we'll just help them get over there.

The only thing that I have to say is that the death penalty is the only recourse for murderers, pedophiles and rapists. That's the ONLY way we can make sure that they don't re-offend. Most intelligent people recognize that certain behaviors do not respond to rehabilitation. I see absolutely no benefit to keeping them alive in prison at taxpayer expense.

So you want to kill someone to show that killing is wrong?

Most serial killers thrive on power, control and dominance. When they're sentenced to death, it plays right into their hands, as determine when (and if) to appeal again, making all the judicial circus roll out again and stretching out the suffering of the families of their victims. When they are finally executed, all the media circus comes out as well. Meanwhile our serial killer is playing puppet master and getting his rocks off.

The best punishment is to take away all of what gets them off i.e. power, control and dominance. You determine when they'll get up, when they'll eat - everything. I'd lock serial killers up in solitary confinement for the rest of their lives - it'd make them suffer a lot more than executing them ever would.
