yes but not very far, they use it as a defense and to fly up into trees at night so that they are off the ground and away from predators

I have seen turkey poults (baby turkey) fly a hundred yards to the top of a 75 ft. tree. Yes, they can fly but don't unless a predator is after them.

If you throw it off a cliff I'm sure the turkey would fly. Turkey's are lazy which is why we eat them on Thanksgiving. In the time's of the pilgrams and such, people always ate the weak and lazy. This is also why you feel tired after eating turkey- even after it's cooked and eaten, it's still lazy.

Yes, sometimes. It depends on the age and weight but I have seen one once fly at a petting zoo.

They do, but not well. I most often see them flying downhill. They then walk back up hills foraging for food. They do far more walking than flying.

They cant fly to much like ducks because of their weight. Mainly they can just sort of lift thier wings and give themselves a extra lift
