The speed of smell isn't as fast as the speed of sound so you will pass by it faster then you would smell it that is why when you are walking and you fart you always feel bad for the person behind you who has to breath it in lol. I am usually the one behind and it stinks, literally lol.

If Superman farted together as flying above the value of sound even his great senses could come upon neither the scent nor the sound because of the fact they could the two be left in the back of him. no person can ever suspect Superman of doing something so uncouth as breaking wind whether it knocked over a development or 2, so he ought to easily blame Lex Luther.

No, the only way you could smell it is if someone were travelling in front of you and THEY did.
Otherwise I think you'd be past it long before you could smell it.
I'm not sure. Interesting thought.
