Because people are the only species that CAN say "people are Superior", in fact people are the only species that can say ANYTHING at all.

Humans say they are the most superior species, because they can. If any other species could speak, we would all be debating among eachother.
If a dog could say he was superior to human, he would. Maybe that is what "arf" means.

Only Christians say that. Hindus say that all living things are created by God and they all have equal status on this earth.
Scientifically speaking, humans have only their brain going for them. An elephant can toss you like a ball. A tiger or a lion can rip you apart and make you a meal in 2 minutes. Humans do not stand a chance with even a wolf which is only one fourth his body size. Even a flee can jump 300 times its own body size.

It's a fair question.
Other species communicate, build civilizations, kill for sport, are parasitic, and so on.
I think the true distinction that makes human-kind superior is the ability to trade. When we trade goods everyone benefits.

There are many Beings on this Planet superior to the Human race.
There are even some animals more advanced than some humans.

because they're afraid to admit that aliens are the superior species. People think they're better and whenever something that appears better than them comes along they feel threatened.
