Yes you may own your home.

The issues and confusion occur when drawing SSI (Supplemental Security Income). With SSI you still may own your own home, but you cannot own rental property or anything which may be sold for income, aside from the home you live in.

If you are drawing straight disability, you may own rental property as long as you aren't doing any "work". You may benefit from the income, but you must not be doing the property management or the maintenance yourself.

The answer to your question is YES, as long as the home is your principal residence -- it is not counted as an asset concerning SSA.
