It depends on how you burn the CD. If you are burning it as mp3's all cd players are not compatible with the mp3 formatting. Try burning it as an audio CD.

You might be buying CD RW's which can be recorded on over and over. Try CDR's which can only be recorded on once, but will play on almost all cd players.

you will have this problem with older cd players. They cannot recognise the recorded cd media very well and dont understand the format.

not much you can do about this problem.
