Hi, I currently got a new laptop a IBM ThinkPad (Model R51) with Windows XP. This laptop has both a Local Area Network (connected), & Wireless Network Connection. I want to know what do I need to buy to get access to a wireless connection to my laptop. I also have a desktop computer with a DSL - sympatico connection (speed stream). So what do I need to buy and how do I hook it up and how much does it cost?? If anyone can help than would be really appreciated. Thanks.

You will need to buy a wireless router, they cost around $50 at walmart. It should come with a wire to plug into your dsl modem then run the setup disk, you should be in business.

It sounds like you have what you need--you just need to enable the wireless network on your laptop. (What you would need is a wireless network adapter, either external or a card to add to your computer, but from what you described you have one.) Go to Network Connections and see if the wireless connection is disabled.

The wireless adapter is also what you need to get your desktop wireless. It might be better to get a wireless router, but wire it to your desktop for best speed there, while letting you use the connection wirelessly as well.
