I have Norton anti-virus. Norton says Mircosoft is a virus. I have contant pop-ups and ads for downloads for antiviruses, I don't want to buy Microsofts crap. I called Microsoft and they said it would be $59.00-$79.00 for them to clean it up over the phone. I am wondering if I have to have Mircosoft Internet Explorer to get on the internet. If not who should I get intsead of Mircosoft Internet Explorer?

Why should we use IE.. its not as advanced & faster than Opera or Firefox..
Get Opera here.. its the fastest & has many features
http://www.opera.com/
Or Get a Firefox..
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I like Opera better..
& get Ad-Aware from http://www.download.com

PS - Both these browsers block pop-ups automatically

So Norton claims that Microsoft is a virus? You are thoroughly confused in what to do. Microsoft and Internet Explorer are not harassing you, and are not to blame for your problems. You haven't turned your popup blocker on. So before you start blaming people and software that isn't to blame, fix the popups first. Firefox is no better or worse than Internet Explorer, you will still get popups. So, until you figure out how to get rid of them, you will still be blaming someone else. Click on Tools and Popup Blocker. Make sure it is turned on. Then get Google's toolbar and popup blocker. Then get anti-spyware and get rid of what is causing the popups.

Everyone has already mentioned Firefox or Opera, so also make sure you have no spyware that could be a cause for the popups here are some free tools if you need to do some scans http://www.basicspywaretips.com/spywareremovaltool.html

Instead of Internet explorer, you can use FIREFOX browser. This is more faster, more secure and can download over internet for free.

Or you can also block pop ups

Microsoft Internet Explorer is just one of the culprits. You need to get an adware removal tool to clean your PC.

Use firefox (http://www.getfirefox.com) instead of explorer. Its far better & user friendly.

doesn't matter what broswer you use. those popups can be blocked. something is in your system causing the popups. has nothing to do with any broswer. and firefox is no better or worse then interner explorer.
