You can use Microsoft paint to do it...

Just change the size of the project to match your needs...
under image choose attributes then set the size to inch or centimeter and give the size you want......

Paint will actually print across more than one page so that you can tape/glue them together.....

Just Preview your picture (under file) before you print to see what it's gonna print on the pages.....

Good for a shoestring budget!

Hope this helps...

what do you need it for and how big does it have to be?
Have you tried taking a large piece of paper and draw and write on it with pens or whatever colors you have around in the house? Before you start on the real piece you can make a small version and you can cut out bits and pieces and shove them around as you want to figure out the best layout. That usually still works, doesn't require any computer program and definitely counts as "from scratch". And it will nowadays be very original!

Well first of all you need to give us some more specific details about your proyect (homework, I assume)...
Second, I would definetely go for Photoshop, or Illustrator, and if you don't own any of these softwares, there is a simple solution. Download the trial version for free, work on your proyect, and that's it... If you don't know how to use the software, try searching for some online tutorials... Hope it helps.
