I have bought a pair of rayon pants and they are too big and long.....(label says to handwash in cold, non-chlorine bleach, hang to dry... steam iron) is there a way I can safely shrink them just a bit to fit better? I don't want to ruin them as they are brand new and quite lovely, also. Please help....

You should take them to a tailor to be fit correctly, if you attempt to shrink them they will crunch up and they will develop a rough texture both to the touch and very visible.

I don't think there would any way what so ever to shrink rayon. The best thing to do would to be to alter them, if you don't sew then have them done at a place that has seamstresses (sometimes Dry Cleaners have them). If you wash them in hot water you will end up with a wrinkled mess!

hey i understand i tried 2 do teh same thing. it didn't work! it will either ruin them completely or shrink them too small.... the possibilities go on. i would just take them back and get the nex size down. maybe nex time u should try them on @ the store so it doesn't happen again. i know i learned my lesson! thanx

better then probably you gained't. Cotton is the perfect shrinker as in cotton denim. Polyester blends w spandex can usually stretch all proper yet complicated if not not available to diminish again take them again for the wonderful length

Rayon doesn't shrink.
