I'm looking for a theory with supporting evidence. You can make up a theory, as long as you find evidence to support it.

For example, if you think oranges will be the downfall of humankind, then support that by saying--penicillin was derived from rotten oranges, and since people build up immunities to penicillin, then we will all eventually die from incurable diseases.

Ok, now it's your turn.

religion- there have been more wars fought in the name of GD then for anything else.

but for fun...Starbucks. the capitialization of a cheap bean grown in Columbia to which we have become too dependent on others to make it for us. if people cant get their coffee- how can they function? they have more time to stop on one of the many street corner cafes, wait in a long line, then wait for others to make their $4- Half calf, no foam, fat free latte with a shake of sugar free mocha, then to simply set their coffeemakers before they jump in the shower. if these places close it will be the end of civilization as we know it! AND where will millions of potential online couples meet each other in hopes of a lifetime of happiness and procreation? people will stop meeting and having wholesome american families! not to mention the rise in alcoholism because the only place to meet will be at a bar where there will be a rise in STDs because of beer induced unprotected sex! where does the madness end!!!! i guess we can all just go to Coffee Bean...

The downfall will be something we can not controll. I do not see us going up in a Nucalar war. Too many things in space can happen that we can not control that one day will end life on earth as we know it, it will start over. This also all depends on your belief system. Many of us believe in God. Many believe in evolution.

My only support is look at the ice age, look at what happened, it wiped out all the dinosaurs almost, now can we prevent a Asteroid from striking earth? maybe. can we stop a star from exploding, that could change our solor system, knocking us out of orbit or changing our living enviroment to where it would be unavilble to live normal anymore? I don't know. There could be something happening in space right now, that could end life on earth 100 year from now.

The way I look at it is, as long as Bruce Willis is still alive we have a chance against asteroids

Reality Television - Eventually one of two scenarios will emerge

1) All television viewers brains will turn into Brown Windsor soup.

2) Everyone will become a celebrity and overwhelm the TV studios. The Global Economy will collapse. TV companies will rule the planet

( What? It already happened? Both? Oh. OK. )

Greed. Greed has been the downfall of mankind from the beginning. Adam and Eve were greedy in that they wanted to know "all" like God. They took the apple that was not theirs to have.

The same greed is what drives earthlings to this day. We are greedy for money, oil and food (obese America). The greed of the people of our world will be what eventually leads us to Armageddon.

I'm thinking that we will all eventually be killed by sharks. They have stayed the same over millions of years, so they must be headed toward some sort of evolutionary jump. The same thing millions of years ago with mammals. Suddenly, mammals begin to evolve rapidly, and now what do you know? We have the technology to send men to the moon!

Environmental Degradation...As it stands right now there are too many people on earth and not enough resources, renewable or non-renewable, to sustain human life indefinitely. Additionally, the manmade elements that are producing climate change will prove to be detrimental as well.

Greed -

It is the root of all evil. It is the power behind wars. Nations wanting more resources & land. Large cooperations wanting to be number one at all costs. People who aren't satisfied with what they have... they want it bigger, better. Gotta have more money, more power.

Greed is going to consume humankind unless we curb our appetite.

our technology combined with our incapacity to care about what we're doing to the environment. we have been replacing nature with pavement and industry, and eventually this planet will be fed up enough with us to make us extinct. it's already started, actually, look at cancer, aids, and homosexuality. nature is both creating incurable diseases and preventing unplanned pregnancies, it's all population control.

In the final analysis, our biggest strengths are also our biggest weaknesses (logical if you think about it). So, I think our downfall will our intellect.
