it all happened when i tried to download a crack file..it infected my comp! i have 3 problems i need to solve.
1.my desktop background is now all black(altho desktop items are present) with a message at the bottom saying 'Your computer is in danger! Windows have detected spyware/adware infection etc'.

2.also i keep getting a message in the form of a balloon all the time saying 'your computer is infected! windows has detected spyware infection. you need specific spyware tools etc'

3.the other problem is, when i click ctrl+alt+del an error message says 'Task Manager has been disable by your administrator'..now im sure my administrator hasnt disabled anything, i think its the spyware/adware/virus thats doing this.

Finally, i have AVG Anti-spyware 7.5 and Avast antivirus installed. they detected several viruses and malware which i deleted, but still the above 3 problems are present. please HELP!!

Do as the first answer says, re-run your spyawre and virus scans with your computer in safe mode. If that does not clear out the infection then you need a more powerful anti-spyware program. The exact same thing happened to me last year except my screen went blue. I solved it with some expert help by installing CounterSpy anti-spyware. Have a look below, it tells the story.

I had a similar infecton awhile back but lucky for me it didn't go too far since I have a big anti-malware arsenal ;) But what's happening is those "spyware tools" the "warning" says is actually going to be from the spyware itself. Often times when you're infected, the spyware LETS you know. It says "windows detected spyware & will now download antispyware tools"...BUT it just downloads more malware!! So get these free tools: adaware (lavasoft.de), superantispyware.com (get FREE edition), & Spybot S/D. If you want to pay 4 one thats even better...get webroot's spysweeper.

This "specific" spyware tool is most likely from the people who infected your computer. Forget about spyware tools, none of them find everything and when something new comes out you have to wait for them to find out about it, identify it, and find a way to defeat it. Get Cyberhawk, it doesn't work on definitions, it works on program behavior, so it blocks new programs before you are even aware of them. Go to: http://www.novatix.com/Cyberhawk/

You need to do it in safe mode, Just hit f8 as soon as your bios screen changes to the windows screen and choose safe mode. Run your anti-virus and spyware programs, then reboot to regular mode.
