If you were parked in an illegal spot then you deserve the fine. However, you may tell the court that it was impossible for you to move it if you have proof of it being towed and a bill from a garage. They may or may not excuse you.

Same happened to me....
What you have to do is get in touch with who ever gave you the ticket and tell them that you had broken down and gone for assistance but that you left a note on the dashboard stating that and when you returned you had recieved a ticket and that you feel this is wrong as it was not your fault...
Most authorites in the Uk will then quash the fine...
You will have to put it in writing after the phonecall but its still alot cheaper for a stamp that a fine!
Remember that you left a note on the dash telling them why it was there.....
Hope that works it has for me twice....
Good luck....

Why should it take 6 hrs to get help?Sounds as if it was your own fault. What is fine for as you usually recieve fixed penalty unless it is more serious offence such as parking in dangerous position

Afraid so. You are expected to maintain your car so it doesn't break down at inopportune moments. Just pay it and don't do it again. The law in UK isn't always fair.

Yes you are, it is your responsibility to ensure that the care is in a safe and legal location. regardless of whether it is functional or not.

As a responsible owner you should have called a tow truck to move your car to you home or the repair shop of your choice.

if you have a justifiable reason as to why you couldn't recover the vehicle any earlier, then you might have good mitigating circumstance's, failing that, guess they will fine you and you'll have to pay. Wish you luck with it.
