The other posts are right about the sounds and the wet hands.

Please also be aware that the spines of an I. sharks fins are quite poisonous. Far more so than cold water catfish. It is a muscle poison that can damage your heart if left without treatment. I once got badly finned by a 13-14" I.shark and it was probably the most painful finning I have every had, including a loin fish and several cory fin encounters.

If you get finned the best treatment is hot water. Assuming the finning is on you hand, put your entire arm in the hottest water you can stand. Keep the water as hot as possible for at least 30 minutes. After that if it still hurts, keep up the heat until it stops hurting from anything other than the wound itself. The heat breaks down this type of poison very well. The same thing works for any muscle poison from fish fins.

I learned the treatment the very hard way from the CDC in Atlanta. No Dr. at my local hospital knew how to treat it and it took a call there for the answer.

Best of luck with your cool fish! and yeah, I still had mine for years after that.

Be very careful about the petting. Make sure you do it with wet hands. As far as the croaking thing....I. Sharks are in reality cool looking catfish. And catfish...make noise.

It is normal. I hope you realize that iridescent sjarks grow to 4 feet long and a weight of over 100 pounds. Many species of ID shark will grow to 9 feet long.

I hope you have a big a** pond.
