I am 6'2" and could hold the rim but not dunk cleanly... look on the internet for a good plyometrics workout you think you can do 3 to 4 times a week consistently. I used plyometrics and within a month or two their was noticeable improvements. The great thing about plyometrics is you don't need to buy any equipment. 5-6 months into my workouts I could throw it down one handed. it took me about 8 months before i could throw it down with two.

I'd say as a 6-footer you'd have to have tremendous leaping ability to dunk on a regulation 10 foot basketball hoop. I'm 6'3" and have decent leaping ability and have never been able to do it. However, I'm sure it's possible for you. Your best bet would probably be to work on building your calf muscles and possibly losing weight - I know you say you're not fat, but the less mass the better when you're trying to jump higher. Try standing on your toes on the edge of the stairs and lift your body up and down. This is a good workout for your calves.

Ok first off leg weights are horrible for ur knees, Try the calf machine at the gym, along with some squats. U need to develop ur legs, and also be able to palm the ball.

Im 6 foot and touch rim.

The safest, most scientific way of increasing your leaping ability is through plyometrics (from Wikipedia: plyometrics is a type of exercise that uses explosive movements to develop muscular power, the ability to generate a large amount of force quickly. Plyometric training acts on both the musculotendinous and neurological levels to increase an athlete's power output without necessarily increasing their maximum strength output).
Just remember to always stretch before exercising.

do calf raises and start jumping rope. maybe get some little ankle weights for when you go running and your calves will get stronger. that's really what it's all about. i guess some squats wouldn't hurt either. so basically just hit the weights and practice jumping as stupid as that sounds.
