My favorite is Stalag 17. I just think it's very interesting, with the snitch in their midst and they've got to save the captain guy.

Downfall would get the gold medal. Superb movie with out of ordinary acting. Saving Private Ryan and Enemy at the gates would follow the lead. Full Metal Jacket along with Black Hawk Down and Apocolypse Now, gets the third rank.

Saving Private Ryan would be the first one I would recommend, but might not be the actual best. Full Metal Jacket may contend for the top spot. Along with Black Hawk Down, Apocolypse Now, and Enemy at the Gates.

I love the movie Midway. Gettysburg is also one of my favorites. Hunt for Red October too, if that could be considered a Cold War movie.
