He's a person who's trying to make a living. He knows very well that his income is directly related to how much publicity he gets. No one would talk about him if he was nice. So he knows what he's doing.

He is a very rich man. Love him or hate him, he has become a multi millionaire both sides of the pond.
He is a man with more money than you or I will ever have because he thought of the idea for a talent show in which he could be his sarcastic British best and get paid a fortune for doing so. Also for the kudos of having you ask questions about him.

I don't think people give Simon enough credit. He has been in the music industry for at least 20 years as a rep, producer, manager, talent finder. He has had his success and his downfalls but that is always the case in the entertainment industry. He gets bashed for his honesty when every one else tries to give people false hope.
Also it's his "style" and personality that help make this show so popular. For me he is a breath of fresh air...he tells it like it is.
He's responsible for il Divo, Westlife plus many others.

Since he helped create the show, it's pretty much his right to do anything he wants with it. I think he makes the whole show. Paula and Randy say nothing worth listening too and the real contenders know that Simon is the one to impress.

The only thing with Simon is that he is rude when telling people they can't sing. And usually he is right. You gotta admit that. It's just that most of us would be alittle nicer about it. He has never claimed to be those famous singers. He doesn't do that. He is in th industry to know who has the potential to make it. Yeah, he's kinda rude, but usually right.

If people do not want to hear what he has to say then they do not need to go on the show. Everyone knows from the beginning that he is one of the judges. If they do not like the way he judges then they can go on a different show.
