Some hair is for heat retention and most of the other hair is to keep stuff from entering our bodies. Cilia are also for moving things through our systems and tubes. But what are your theories about armpit hair?

It has to do with scent and pheromones, sexual attraction. Body and facial hair do not start growing until puberty. These hairs trap scent and pheromones that help attract the opposite sex. This is shown by getting a pleasant memory from smelling your special persons tee-shirt

Where there are more hair follicles, there is more hair. Most of the apocrine sweat glands are in the axillae. They are accompanied by hair follicles.
