There were three notable universities where students held parties that mocked that of low income african americans. Since these young adults are considered our "future" what does this say about racism or racial insensitivity in America now? in the future?

As long as there are different races, there will always be someone somewhere who just can't accept those for who they are and leave it at that.

Maybe in another 100 years or so we'll all be a nice golden tan color and they won't have to deal with such ignorance.

I hate to see what kind of world my two boys will have to grow up in.

NO! It proves that ignorance is now socially acceptable. Racism hasn't gone away. Never has and probally never will. The racial scandals that have been going on are of proof that. If society didn't adhere to the racism and make excuses for why it exist or whether there is a question of racism, people would be intelligent enough to keep comments to themselves.

A lesson from Pre-K and old school parenting:

If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all.

Treat others as you would want them to treat you.

Last, but not least (from the kiddies): I'm rubber and you're glue, what ever you say , bounces off me and sticks to you!
Enjoy!

I've not saw the pictures, so I almost dont want to respond. But I have heard from different talk radio host about what was going on in the pictures. I don't think before this happened anyone thought rasicm was gone, nor will it ever be gone. These kids at Clemson maybe didn't think too much about what they were doing, but I've heard people wanting them kicked out of school which, may be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Look at Weird Al's cover for White & Nerdy, no one says a thing about him "dressing black". I think some people take stuff too serious sometimes. If I turn on MTV2 or BET right now I'm sure I would see the same things as you saw these kids dressed up at the party. The image that music puts on black males are gold chains, diamond, baggy clothes, guns, money and drinking alcohol. These students were just playing that up, I do not think they believe all black people dress, act like that. I know I don't want black people thinking all white people are just like on Jerry Springer.

Bottom line 50 students from one college is not the future of America. 50 million students are the future of America, and with 50 million you will have mistakes, stupidy, and errors from time to time.

Well, in one famous case, the end result showed that the African American woman who had charged the white students with attacking her was a total liar and the attack never happened - she had made up the whole thing. The District attorney had to drop the charges.... unfortunately this was after the students had been profiled thousands of times in newspapers all over the world as vicious racist thugs.

So, what the stories say is - newspapers print sensational stories without taking any trouble to find out what the truth is - as long as it sells papers!

Of course racism still exists. We didn't need the scandals at universities to prove that. The KKK and other white supremicist groups still exist. And of course, it works the other way, too. Black, white, hispanic, asian, whatever, all races have members who are racist. Probably always will, which is sad.

People will always be people, and racism will always exist, no matter how far down you choose to look at it. skin color, eye color, because of where you live. ignorance is the main cause of all this. can you rid the world of ignorance? NO? then how can anyone ever rid the world, not just america, of racism..?

Racism still and will always exist. It's almost like an opinion. Ignorance will reign high among Americans. Upbringing, as well as ignorance among blacks will forever keep this issue alive.

Racism still exists, and will always exist sadly. There will always be one person who thinks his race is better, and doesn't believe that we are all equal.
