I've tryed ccleaner and it found a lot of issues in my registry, fixed all that and i see a slight improvement now...

Ram remains to bee seen,as I wasn't planning an upgrade in that area in the immediate future, but if nothing else solves the prob, it will be a must...

Another thing, (since i have to leave this question open for another 3h, i might as well make the best out of this time..) I have 256 ram in my configuration, (bios sais so too), but my OS only shows me 191... Why could that be?

I would purchase more RAM eventually. In the meantime try www.download.com and download Adware SE and Spybot (both are free). Run these as you may have some spyware and this causes your computer to run slower. Another program to try is ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com). This will delete temp files from your computer which can also so down performance.

As been clearly discussed, you need to upgrade your RAM.

Most likely the question you have is why - it worked better when you first had it? And secondly is there anything else you can do.

When you first started using your computer you probably didn't do as much with it. When you run multiple programs you run out of RAM and your computer uses your hard drive, slowing things down.

You most likely have upgrades to your browser, as well as other software.

It's possible you have something running in the background that's causing your computer to be slow. You can download and run HijackThis! (free) to see what's running on your computer that can cause these slow problems.

Reinstalling windows, won't solve any problems - and could make things worse if you're not careful in how you reinstall. Possibly reformatting the hard drive would be about as close as you can come.

Have you tried to clear out your IE settings:
To clear out all settings and reset IE you can try the following:
From within Internet Explorer:
Click the menu 'Tools'
Select 'Internet Options'
On the “General Tab”:
Click “Delete Files” – when completed
Click “Delete Cookies” – when completed
Click “Clear History” – when completed
Click the “Advanced Tab”
Click “Restore Defaults” – when completed
Click OK

You need more RAM. Boost it up to 1GB (or at least 512). You can get it from http://www.crucial.com

Run anti-spyware programs such as Spybot Search and Destroy and Lavasoft Ad-aware.

Upgrade your RAM, buy a 512mb chip. This will help and most likely the cheapest.
