Your baby can have a bowel movement in utero even if you don't take it. Two of mine did and I never have had castor oil in my whole life.

There has been some speculation that there is a correlation between a baby passing meconium before being born and the use of Castor oil. However, there does not seem to be any scientific studies that have proved or dis-proved this. Medically, Castor oil is a treatment for constipation. So, what you will probably experience is diarrhea and cramping which may or may not lead to contractions, possible dehydration which also may lead to contractions. It is not generally recommended that pregnant women take Castor oil. Since you have already taken it, drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration and be prepared to stay close to the bathroom.

Yes,it can make the baby pass a movement in uterus just like can make mom poop. Your body can also re-make the plug every 24 hours. I would never use Castor oil as I have see a child very ill from it and even worse seen a child die because of it. Please be cautious.
