I bought a new computer on Monday. Yesterday I turned it on but the start menu and desktop icons just disappeared. I called the tech support line and it was resolved but then I couldn't use my internet, so I had to restore my computer back to its factory settings. However, the same thing has happened again. Should I just take it back or is there anything else I can do? It's an hp btw.....

Dump it while you can ... get a different brand or model.
This may or may not an indication of things to come.

Give the tech support line another chance if you like.
DO NOT have people at the store start servicing a brand new PC...that's ridiculous.... RETURN IT FOR A REFUND.

Are you plugging a lot of things into it...printers, flash drives, etc.

If you power supply is too weak (typical of some lower brand computers) then plugging too much stuff in, can make it freeze.

Try it with just keyboard, mouse, monitor in. If it still hapens take it back.

Don't wait anymore. Just take it back and ask for a replacement.

A new computer and all these problems...... Take it back PRONTO.
Problems now and undoubtedly problems later on.... Good Luck.

take it back to the store and ask them to look at it.. if there's a problem with it they can replace it since you just purchased it.

definately take it back. thats not acceptable within the first couple of days.
