I will assume that you actually needed to show how to do this, instead of just slipping you the answer.
X^2 + (X+2)^2 = 100
[If X is even, the next even integer is X + 2]
X^2 + x^2 + 4X + 4 = 100
2X^2 + 4X + 4 = 100 or x^2 + 2X -48 = 0
(x - 6)(x + 8) = 0
So X = 6 or X = -8. The pairs are (6, 8) and (-8, -6).
(You see, it is only by really solving this that you get BOTH answers.)

6 squared (36) + 8 squared (64) = 100

8^2=64
36+64=100
