i had a cervical stitch (cerclage) put in two weeks ago and the only restrictions the dr gave me was "nothing in the vagina" so that means no sex obviously, i have an incompitant cervix which was the reason for the cerclage so i can understand why he wouldnt want anything inserted into the vagina. but i am wondering do you think that means no doing anything that would make me orgasm? sorry if that's an uncomfortable question, i kind of am scared to ask the dr that. i have heard that orgasms can cause the cervix to thin, not sure if this is true or not. anyway if you have any thoughts or suggestions let me know, i wasnt sure/
thanks

I've had 2 cerclages and yes, you don't want to have intercourse or orgasm either because that could trigger preterm labor. Sorry....no sex until the stitch comes out. Hang in there!

Also, sadly for hubby, swallowing semen is effective at starting labour (or at least thining the cervix).

Nipple stimulation can also stimulate contractions.

I would think no orgasms, as well

Which totally sucks! Sorry.

Sorry - no orgasms either. It is worth it to give that up for awhile to make the baby cook a little longer.
