Why not just send a girt card for Babies R Us,or for whatever store they have in their area,so they could get things they need, there always going to need diapers and stuff like that!

anything that can help your brother and his partner take care of the baby. clothes for the baby, food, diapers. at this point, buying toys for the baby is pretty pointless. get a more extravagent gift later. whatever you think would best take some pressure off your brother and his family even money will do. it's not cheap raising a baby. also be sure to get something nice for the wife/girlfriend who's in labor.

the day a child is born i purchase that day's local newspaper, along with the current issue of 'people' or 'life' magazine. i put each magazine, and or newspaper, in a freezer size zip-loc bag to keep it clean, write the baby's name and birth date on the bag and these get tucked into a gift bag with a piggy bank from 'toys r us'. [they have both pink and blue, good quality piggy banks]. i put twenty dollars of coin in it and the gift is done.
of course you will put whatever you can afford in the bank whether it is pennies, or a little more.
i have done this for over twenty years and everyone loves reading the magazine and newspaper as they get older. they can read about what was news, they can laugh at the styles in the magazines, and see what movie stars were 'hot' and get an idea of life of life the day they came into the world. and they all still have their piggy banks!
its a little different idea, but they all seem to love it!
sam, whatever you buy your brother and the baby will love it! have fun shopping!

Vent Aire baby bottles at wal mart - they block air from entering the bottle when the baby is eating, some diaper disposal bags lol - easier for the mom, wash cloths, diapers, and wipes because you'll need plenty of those, blankets, baby clothes, and decorations are cute to/

Hello Sam!!

Send your niece or nephew a custom diaper cake. One created with all the fun things and neccesities the parents won't have yet!! Have it made to match the nursery theme....or a particular color scheme you think your brother would like!

I make custom diaper cakes and can work with any budget. I work fast and ship out the very next day! Check my site out...they're pretty neat gifts! Distinctive and memorable. They would be very touched!!

how about some thing different, wrap a box in baby paper and put in essential things like nappies, milk, teething gel,cot sheets etc to help mum out and a few luxuries for mum like bubble baths, scented candles and small bottle of champayne after all her hard work.

Diapers...I always send them along with powder, lotion, oil and bath wash. If I just get diapers, depending on the amount you want to spend...get the newborn and a couple packages or boxes of the small. This is something they will need/use and be greatly appreciated
