Because, the superbowl is always held in a large stadium to sell more tickets, an indoor stadium so the weather won't be too bad, or a southern stadium. If the colts win the superbowl then the NFL would lose millions on ticket prices next year because they have the smallest stadium in the league. Atleast for now. Why do you think it was held in detroit-huge indoor, jacksonville-huge and warm, the superdome- huge dome, miami- huge warm. You cant hold the superbowl in say buffalo, it might get snowed out and the people who traveled and have plane tickets would lose out.

The NFL makes money off of the Super Bowl Bids....any stadium/team that wants to host the Super Bowl has to put in a bid for the event then make a proposal....the league then choices the venue for the Super Bowl. This is done several years before the event. I also will be honest with you...I do not see in the near future there being a Super Bowl in Chicago, Green Bay, Seattle, Foxboro, East Rutherford, or Buffalo....for the simple reason that these are open stadiums and the weather in Feb. in these areas is too unpredictable and it would take away from the people wanting to go to the game.

The NFL hates that idea because they either want a sunny place or a dome to put the Super Bowl in. That way, it becomes even more of an attraction and they can bring up the ticket price. Your idea is good, it's just not going to happen.

Great idea. But the NFL are wimps and they refuse to play the game in the cold. I would love to see a Super Bowl game played where it is snowing like the Pats/Colts showdowns at Foxborough in the past. IMO the games in the cold/snow are the most fun to watch.

I guess because every stadium is not equpped to have such an event...usually they go for the newer stadium and these deals are done years in advance...its a great idea though and I think it would be really cool to have it like that

Wow, that's a great idea, and would be a financial boon for the city. I don't know why they haven't thought about that yet? Great question!
