Ghost writers usually are professional writers who write for well known individuals who lack writing talent. For example, let's say a honcho on Wall Street wants to write a book on how he became a billionaire. He might be a financial wizard, but when it comes to writing, he's a pure dud. So he hires a ghost writer to put the words on paper and make the book a good and easy read. Many ghost writers are well known in literary circles and publishing houses. They could earn more than $100,000 a year depending on who they are writing the book for.

Someone wants to write a book. They lack the experience, the practice, the success, the method. No matter, they can hire someone else to do the job. The person hired to do the job is the ghost writer. The ghost writer relinquishes the "pleasure" of having his name associated with the book. The book is BY the person who arranged for the book to be, and who paid for its getting done.

You're not looking for a ghost writer. You're looking for someone to buy your idea and write the story from it. That doesn't happen much with books.
