men instinctively find the prospect of something new (you) to be exciting. after some years of marriage certain aspect of his love life might have cooled off a bit and he needs to get a spark back into it. Doesn't mean he doesn't love her or enjoy being married to her.

It does mean that he's an a**hole for cheating on her though.

Firstly not all married or committed men cheat. However, those who do go astray do so for similar reasons as women.

A long term committed relationship can bring drudgery. Ideally one would work hard in a relationship to ensure that this does not occur. For those who opt for the easy way out a fling can bring a bit of excitement to ones life. For a brief period of time one can feel wanted, sexy, adventurous. There is no talk of the kids the bills and day to day chores of a marriage. It is simply about you and them. The sex is new, that too can be exciting, they might find a more adventurous partner etc.
There is no fear of commitment (he cant he is already married) ideally they will go with someone with the same thing in mind wham bam thank you mam.

For a short spurt of liberation the consequences are indeed huge. It is quite sad that this desire is quite common and that it occurs quite often. Men hear of disastrous one night stands meaning they hear of the consequences but have this die hard attitude that they wont get caught. Living a lie forever after is hard as well.

Married men have affairs because they allow themselves to fall prey to temptations by women like yourself that have no regard or respect for their wives and their children. These men are selfish, greedy and don't appreciate what they have. These men that have affairs are weak and might else well be with the homewrecker and then the wife can move on with her life and meet a man with class. The neat part of this scenario is that eventually the wife is happy, the homewrecker has moved on to another married man to manipulate, and the husband is alone and lives every day with regret for ruining his marriage.

It is possible that he can be happily married and still have an affair. Especially if women like you are willing to be second string. Men sometimes have affairs just because they can and if they believe they can get away with it. And they will continue to do it until they are caught.

He is happily married. Some men just can't control their need for someone different once in a while. There is no emotional attachment for him. Once his hunger is sated he will go back to his life and forget it until the next need arises.

People cheat to get what they are not getting from their spouse. They may be happy in other respects.
People take this route because they are too lazy or undedicated to deal with the real issues in their marriage. Kind of like getting drunk to forget your problems. Doesn't make the problems go away, but you feel better for a little while.

He is boring and he needs you so that he can feel interesting. Remember the adage - Bored peoople are boring. Do you like being esentially a video game for this guy? Soemthing to entertain him when the rest of life is too uch to deal with.

by telling u he is happily married he is saying he only wants u for one thing, and don't expect it to ever be anymore, u are selling yourself short, to let yourself be used, with no chance of any future except just what u have now.

He's a jackass and a liar. The question for you is this: Why do you need to find intimacy with someone who is unavailable to you rather than with someone who IS available for a full relationship? Why are YOU holding back and entering into someone else's and your own deception?

Shame on you for messin with a married man! The man sounds like he is happy with his marriage, and has no intention of leaving her. You were more of a fling to him, a toy!
