Disregard the naysayers. Yes you can pay via credit card, as long as you use the online service and don't have your drivers license already suspended (then you need to show up in court with cash and get your clearance card so that the SOS will reinstate your license). There is a little service charge, but it's not horrid.

The reason why they don't take credit cards is for 2 reasons...
#1 The city gets charged 2% from the credit card company
#2 The credit card charges can be disputed after you paid them!
