Do you pay roaming with an unlock phone?

I want to buy an unlock phone and I heard you get free roaming when the phone is unlock. Also if I do get free raoming, does that include international roaming? Thanks

I have an unlocked phone from Cingular for my T-Mobile phone. Now i have never heard of an unlocked phone getting free roaming when it isnt on your plan.

I had to call my T-Mobile company and ask. They told me i would have been paying roaming charges if it wasnt already on my plan. So i got lucky. I was almost out $290.

The best thing you can do is call your carrier and ask them does your plan have roaming on it. If it doesnt. Then you will be paying and bunch of money to use it. Oh, also, Ask about the international roaming to. I didnt ask about that one.
