It is possible but the definition changes for "simple living and high thinking".
Nowadays, a good job with a monthly take home pay of about Rs.30000,a mobile phone,an automobile,a decent two bed room flat with A/C units (if possible) to live comfortably and giving good education for the children in good schools etc are part of simple living .
In present day standards,it is difficult to define the standards as it varies from person to person.
Of all the things health and peace of mind are most important for simple living.

"Simple living" and "high thinking" are both relative terms. Their meanings vary with the different people you are talking to. I think I live rather simply, but that's based on my own comfort level. I'm in my warm and comfortable home, with my laptop on my lap, and my HD TV going in the back ground, and a couple of sweet kitties sleeping by my side. To me, High Thinking is reflecting on all of God's wonders and His blessings in my life. A homeless guy on the street will have a whole different idea of simple and high thoughts.
