I'm going by my original due date that the doctor gave me for my LMP. I'm not a 28 day gal more like 30-33 so I knew my due date couldn't be the normal LMP and 28 day scenario. Even after I told my doctor about this and the u/s measured us not as far along they still haven't changed my due date. So for me personally, I go by what the ultrasound says as this is my 22wk instead of almost 23 wks and keep my due date of June 1st and I'm just prepared to go slightly longer than June 1st and not be concerned. The u/s measured us as a June 5th or so but the Doctor will not change due date.

The ultasound provides your due date.

The ultrasound monitor and pictures also have a + and a - symbol with the # 5 and the letter d . It looks like this:

+-5d

That means the ultasound can be off by 5 days. But no more than 5 days. Especially early in the pregnancy. (You may have conceived 5 days earlier, or 5 days later.)

Good luck to you!!!

PS I just had to say that the EARLIER your ultrasound is, THE MORE ACCURATE IT IS. This is because ALL FETUSES between 3 and 12 weeks are pretty much exactly the same size.

Go by the Ultrasound. My LMP was 07.09.06, but when I went in to my first 10 week appointment they did a Vaginal ultrasound and found that I was only 7 weeks along. This was due to me ovulating later than usual. You may have ovulated earlier than usual. Congrats and Good Luck.

If you are certain that your LMP was that day, you should go by that. Ultrasound is really only effective at dating a pregnancy very early on since fetal growth rates will vary and early in pregnancy as the embryo is forming, it forms at a very particular rate.

ALSO - what are your HCG levels? That would help also.

You go by the LMP. If we went by my u/s's my edd would be April 1st instead of April 24th. The u/s screen is not accurate and you know when started. So hope this helped. Good luck and congrats.

Since your period is not very regular, your doctor is going by the size of your uterus. I would stick with the dates the doctor gave you.

Go by the ultrasound- they are more accurate if there is a difference between LMP and ultrasound :)
