Why is it disrespectful? I always call them kids. Maybe because it's where I have been brought up, my mum used the term and everyone here does. It's not thought badly of at all here.

Baby goats are called kids. they bray all the time, chew everything, poop everywhere and are very curious. Reminds me of children and some adults too.
