Basically ther are a couple of descriptons. First of all there is the instance where you ridicule or imitate someone. It is the act of mocking or imitating someone.
Mockery is also used to describe how someone is basically making a joke of justice " mockery of justice" when they do things or use certain tactics to get off, or get around the system when it seem obvious that they would normally be made to pay for any actions that caused them to be tried for a crime or whatever, in the first place. It may even be a lawyer's tactics that may be described as so whne they try things that don't really seem to be acceptable to get thir way in a case. Long answer but hope it helps

mockery means a joke. for example if your teacher tells you "you should not make a mockery out of every thing" she means that you should take things seriously and not just laugh out loud at anything or try to make others laugh while studying

to make fun of - to mock someone by imitating them in a stupid manner... less sophisticated than using sarcasm as a cruel form of humor.
