A "real" race car, or a toy race car,
you know like a table center piece?
If it is a toy or indoor small scale thing, try ginger bread house making techniques, or maybe use recipes to make hard candy, but instead make panels. Also, taffy might be a good second choice, find some taffy recipes, use it for various parts.
