Yes I believe so too. I have noticed before that the fights I've experienced which hurt the most were from my best friends. It's because people that are really close to you already knows you well and will know how to bring you "down". They can say even the simplest words which they themselves only know that can really hit the jackpot in you. They can act this way and that that can hurt you because they know you will.

Oh yeah I have an ex husband who cheated on me for 3 years starting 2 months after we got together and an ex best friend who decided she didn't like it that I had other friends and or decided she had shared to many secrets (she cheated on her husband repeatedly) and I was gonna tell someone and she started a fight between me and another friend back stabbed me out of my job tried to have me both evicted from my apartment and arrested when I was 5 months pregnant. ( luckily someone I didn't really even get along with stood up and told the truth ) Yeah I'd say the people closest to me hurt me most.

I would have to say yes...since I myself am the closest person to me....and I definately know that I have been my worst enemy.

Now about my close friends...when I remain true to myself...and don't sacrifice myself to my closest friends...what I mean is...don't say yes to things when I really want to say no..I have found it creates healthy boundaries...therefore I don't feel used and abused. Those that stick around under these terms are my real friends and respect the boundaries....so in these cases....no I don't usually get hurt by them....because I don't open the unhealthy doors for that to happen.

My best firend of over 22 years who is the closest person to me has never hurt me and as far as I know and I am quite sure she would tell me I have never hurt her! So my answer if No I don't think this is true! If the closest person to you is your best friend then no, but if the closest person to you is an acquaintence I couldn't tell you! Not knowing!

Yes, it's true. You let them in, get close to you, and trust them. You don't have that kind of trust with a total stranger. So, when they break it, it feels literally like a punch in the stomach.

More so than many people could ever imagine until the time comes for them, but how many folk think back to see if this hurt is in self defense ?

It's true but not because of being taken for granted.
If someone who isn't close to you does something to upset you, then you wouldn't really care because they don't mean much to you.
If someone close does exactly the same thing, it hurts more because you're connected more.

Yes 100%, the reason is that you trust the person, and then they turn out to be SMURF chokers...(jokes) Yes person closet to you will hurt you the most because you trust them and when that trust is broken it hurts like hell....

Well, I think it's the comfort zone thing, like the unconditional love or what-not. Also, the closer u are to the person and they do something hurtful, the worse it stings.
