Both. Look at the TV shows on the major networks. Sex, violence, greed, lust and the ignorant people who eat that stuff up.

Even in our own government we have greedy oil men who are ignorant of the needs of the nation and they were voted into office by people too ignorant to realize what those guys would do to this nation and the world.

Until ordinary people stop allowing this to happen it will continue and just like many of the same reasons for the fall of ancient Rome, the US will fall.

Man's "downfall" has already happened, and is perpetuated, both individually and collectively, not only through greed and ignorance, but also by envy, malice, gluttony, pride, lust, and slothfulness. The antidote to all of this is faith, hope, charity, fortitude, justice, temperance, prudence, humility, kindness, abstinence, chastity, patience, liberality, diligence, love, hope, faith, prudence, temperance, courage, justice. In these, the downfall stops and life takes root.

Neither----it's not greed or ignorance--that's been around since man was created--it will be because of the political issues and wrong decisions made--if that's ignorance? or greed?--I think it's just nature.
