I grew up in Northern Chester County. I am very familiar with Lancaster County. My sister went to Millersville University. I have several friends from the Lancaster area. The weather is about the same as NJ. Taxes are less, by far. You will find housing much cheaper in general. Most other expenses will be about the same, maybe a bit cheaper.

A few years ago, I was looking for a new job and my wife and I considered moving to Lancaster. I didn't get the job there, but we would have moved if I had.

Very nice area. It's Amish country which isn't bad either. Good luck! The city is pretty bad and getting worse. Don't move in the city.
